MISSION STATEMENT

I wanted to share with you how Lakeport Hobbies and Lakeport Hobbies Raceway started, and a bit about it’s weekly operation. Through the help of many club members and sponsorships Lakeport Hobbies Raceway has become something bigger than we would have ever dreamed. We have made it into a national magazine.

RC Car Action

Although Lakeport Hobbies and Lakeport Hobbies Raceway are relatively new in this sport, we have earned some recognition in northern California. We learned so much over the years from some of the best top notched drivers. They shared with us what was needed to become a premier Indoor RC Off Road Race Program. Because they generously shared their knowledge with us we now offer one of the finest weekly race programs available. Because of all of the help mentioned above Lakeport Hobbies has produced a great regional race for the first time ever in Northern California.

Lakeport Ca has a history of RC Racing. It wasn’t always this way! Although there are many back yard ventures little to none take it to the higher level we have achieved. Lakeport Hobbies Raceway started in a back yard! Yet today Lakeport Hobbies and Lakeport Hobbies Raceway with the support of many local and out of town RC Racers has become a premier operation in the Nor Cal Area. To elaborate on RC CAR ACTIONS article we would like to share our story of how it all became what it is today in Lakeport California.

About four years ago I was semi retired and had many days to myself. A friend introduced me to a T-Max and I was off and running. First it was my friend and I doing some back yard bashing. Which soon turned into a handful of friends. We all banded together and built a track in my back yard. we called it Vista Like many others who have built tracks in their back yards, This back yard turned out to become a wonderful weekend event and it lasted a couple of years. Having 12 acres one track tuned into two The second was named Cornerstone

Then a computer lap counting system was purchased, pit tables provided, and weekly video was produced early on. 12 to 15 racers showed up to race each week and, well many of you know how it turned out.

During all of the beginning days of back yard racing my friends and I didn’t have local Hobby Store to purchase our RC goods from. We had to travel 50 to 70 miles to the nearest Hobby Stores in order to get our RC Goods. So I purchased a small business building here in Lakeport California and after a major investment and lots of hard work we remodeled
