Memorial Day Parade 2008

  Memorial Day Parade  Saturday May 24th 2008

 

Lakeport Hobbies in association with LCRC (Lake County Radio Control Club) will be participating in our second annual Memorial Day Parade.

We are looking for participants and volunteers for this event.

 We will be using our 20’ foot feather light flat bed trailer as our Float in the Parade. Our float will be pulled by the Lakeport Hobbies Hummer. Much like last year we will be performing Radio Control Demonstrations from this platform.

We will need volunteers to build the float. Spot during the Parade, and some design Ideas! 

Build Volunteers, Spot volunteers, and design ideas for the float are now being accepted in our online Club House. The Threads are titled: Float Build Sign Ups, Parade Spotters Sign Ups, and Float Design Ideas.

  How we did things last year was: we had four Associated T4 Models demonstrate on the street. We had a ramp built at the end of the float so that the cars could be driven off the float and back on. Our spotters walked behind the float through the parade to spot the RC’s. We had a jump that was carried by the spotters which was difficult for them to do. One of the new ideas is to have the jump attached to the float so that it is dragged behind the float for ease of operation Much like our ra. Also another new idea is to have our video of the Parade be recorded from on the float instead of having the video person run behind the float.
