Northern California Lake County Hand Drumming

My friend and I just had our fourth drum lesson.  It has been fun and I feel like I have been slowly improving.  We are working on the techniques and getting the right sounds on the bass, open and slap.  I feel like I am doing well on that part of it.  I also feel like I can do the beats that I have been practicing on my own.  However, there are certain beats that are challenging for me when I am playing with the other guys, especially when I am expected to know where we are in the count and jump in.  I guess it will just take more practice.  Overall, it has been challenging and fun.  I’m sure that there is this type of interest in hand drumming in the Bay Area, but I feel blessed that I have found something like this in Lakeport.
